Erika Palumbo Gunning

Speech-Language Pathologist, M.S., CCC-SLP

I earned my Master's degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University in 2012 and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. I am licensed in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, with clinical experience spanning early intervention, preschool evaluation, and private pediatric feeding therapy.

My career began in home-based Early Intervention with children from birth to three - an experience that shaped my belief that the most meaningful growth happens within real routines, play, and relationships. I went on to serve as part of a multidisciplinary preschool evaluation and IEP team, assessing children ages three to six and partnering with families, educators, and therapists to translate evaluations into plans that actually fit each child's life.

My clinical work has spanned the full range of pediatric speech, language, and feeding needs — from late talkers and motor planning challenges to autism, developmental delays, and complex feeding disorders. I am PROMPT-trained and hold specialized training in pediatric feeding, including the SOS Approach to Feeding, AEIOU, and Talk Tools: Sensory-Motor Feeding Therapy.

I work from the inside out - building trust and connection first, then setting goals that are meaningful to each family. Sessions are playful by design, because children do their best learning when they feel safe and engaged. My aim is always the same: help each child find their voice, their confidence, and their place in the world around them."
