At the first appointment, you will discuss your child’s medical and developmental history, your/teacher (if applicable) concerns, and your goals.

Your child is then assessed for 1 hour. This looks like lots of good play-but is really an extensive evaluation that examines all aspects of development-using toys as props to elicit movement, speech and/or required tasks.

After the examination is complete, the evaluating therapist will then discuss his/her basic impressions and the best plan of action for your child. You will have the opportunity to practice and demonstrate the recommended home exercise program, when relevant.

Within a day or two, you will receive a write up with examination details, impressions, goals and home exercise program.  We take this short time between evaluation and documentation so we can reach out to teachers/daycare providers and anyone else who can help us get the best picture of your child to assure we establish the best plan for your child.
