Healthy Choices for a Healthy Voice!!!

We take care of our kids, take care of diet and exercise regimen (hopefully)…but have you ever thought about taking care of your voice?

Vocal hygiene is important to keep your voice healthy and going strong!

One easy healthy habit you can implement for all members of the family is: staying hydrated! We know how important it is to drink water, but did you know that hydration is important for your voice too? The vocal cords (vocal folds) are covered by a mucosal lining which needs to stay moist. Drink up so your vocal cords don’t dry out!

Your choice of beverage is important as well. Unlike water, milk and juice-caffeinated beverages dry out the mucosal lining on the vocal cords, making a person more prone to vocal damage.
